Green Card

The Green Card is an international insurance certificate that confirms the holder of a motor vehicle has the mandatory liability insurance. The Green Card is required in the territory of 13 countries, namely:

  • Albania,
  • Belarus,
  • Bosnia and Herzegovina,
  • Montenegro,
  • Iran,
  • Israel,
  • Russia,
  • North Macedonia,
  • Morocco,
  • Moldova,
  • Tunisia,
  • Turkey,
  • Ukraine.

For countries in the European Union and the European Economic Area, Poles can enter without a Green Card. Following Poland’s accession to the European Union, the mandatory motor vehicle liability insurance (OC) also covers incidents occurring not only within Poland but also in EU member states, the European Economic Area, and Switzerland. Therefore, a Green Card is not required for entry into these countries.
